Employee Recognition Programs
Years of Service Awards
Longevity speaks volumes about a workplace culture. At RMH, we honor the dedication of our team members through Years of Service Awards—a tradition that reflects our deep appreciation for those who choose to grow with us.
We celebrate team members at key milestones:
- 1 Year
- 3 Years
- 5 Years
- Every 5 Years thereafter
Each milestone is marked with:
- A personalized award or gift
- Recognition in internal communications and event
- A moment to reflect on the individual’s journey and contributions
Each award is a heartfelt thank-you for the impact they’ve made on our patients, our community, and team members.
R.U.S.H. Recognition Program
The R.U.S.H. Award isn’t just a title—it’s a celebration of character, compassion, and commitment. It stands for Respect and Unity Start Here, and it honors those who embody the spirit of RMH in everything they do.
Quarterly Winners: Each quarter, we proudly recognize individuals who go above and beyond, embodying the true spirit of RMH
R.U.S.H. Award: From the pool of quarterly honorees, one outstanding individual is selected to receive the annual R.U.S.H. Award.
Nominees are recognized for:
- Consistently going the extra mile for patients and coworkers
- Demonstrating kindness, empathy, and teamwork in daily interactions
- Upholding RMH’s mission to serve with integrity and excellence
Each quarter, peers and leaders nominate individuals who exemplify these values. Winners are celebrated hospital wide. At the end of the year, one standout is chosen as the Annual R.U.S.H. Award Recipient, representing the very best of RMH.
“The R.U.S.H. Award reminds us that greatness isn’t just in what we do—it’s in how we treat others along the way.” — RMH Recognition Team

Quality Star Award
The Quality Star Award recognizes a Department/Program monthly that has shown commitment toward their Key Performance Indicator goals. At the end of the year, a Quality Star of the Year Award recipient is chosen.
Brag Program
We believe that great work deserves to be seen and celebrated—not just by leadership, but by everyone. That’s why we created the Brag Program, a simple yet powerful way for team members and patients to spotlight the everyday difference-makers among us.
Whether it’s a nurse who stayed late to comfort a patient, a team member who brightened someone’s day with a kind word, or someone who stepped in without being asked brags are our way of saying, “We see you.”
- Anyone can submit a brag
- Each month, two team members are selected from the submissions to receive a special reward and recognition.
- All brags are shared internally to inspire and uplift our RMH family.
This program reinforces our belief that excellence isn’t just in the big moments—it’s in the small, meaningful acts of kindness and dedication that happen every day.
Getting Involved
Committees at RMH
At Rush Memorial Hospital, we believe that a strong culture is built through collaboration, shared purpose, and active participation. One of the ways team members can contribute to our culture is by joining one of our many internal committees. These groups offer a chance to connect, lead, and make a meaningful impact beyond your daily role.
Why Join a Committee?
- Shape the Future: Help guide decisions that affect our workplace, patient care, and community outreach.
- Build Relationships: Collaborate with colleagues across departments and strengthen our sense of unity.
- Grow Professionally: Gain leadership experience, share your voice, and develop new skills.
- Live Our Values: Committees reflect our core values—respect, unity, compassion, and excellence.
How It Works:
- Team members can volunteer or be nominated to serve.
- Committees meet regularly and collaborate on initiatives that align with RMH’s mission and values.
- Participation is supported by leadership and recognized as a valuable contribution to our RMH culture.
